Afghanistan for Dummies?

Oh look.

The top O'Bomber has simplified Afghanistan for us:

Gen. Stanley McChrystal: "My position here is a little bit like a mechanic. We've got a situation with a vehicle and I've been asked to look at it and tell the owner what the situation is and what it will cost to make the vehicle run correctly and I will provide that… Now I understand that the vehicle owner then has to make a decision on what the car is worth, how much longer he intends to drive it. Whether he wants it to look good or just run."

And then you realize he’s talking about Afghanistan. We’ve got a grave human situation in Afghanistan, not a car problem.

Note in the very same article the Top O’Bomber also states: "I do not see indications of a large al-Qaida presence in Afghanistan now."

Oh shit, people, we’re through the looking glass here.

When will our manipulators fully admit to “mission creep” in Afghanistan?

  1. Could be everything is actually going according to plan...where the main objective of war in 1984 is to expend surplus capital and to psychologically divert and exhaust the masses.

  2. I agree. Keep them in a state of perpetual war, replace needs with desires, put children in service of the state, reduce jobs to either working for the state or working for the military, blur the lines between state and military and eventually just have everyone desiring one thing: perpetual war.
